I’m a native of Detroit, Michigan and attended The University of Michigan. As a result, I not only have a degree in English and a secondary teaching
certificate, I was molded into a fervent (and most likely, annoying) Wolverine! I currently live in the northern suburbs of Chicago and am perfectly positioned between Chicago and Milwaukee.
After undergrad, I taught in the Detroit area schools. During my time as a high school English teacher, I quickly learned that our teenagers couldn’t read or write nearly as well as their suburban counterparts. After giving it my all, I decided I needed to go back to school and focus on literacy and how to best assist those that were lacking in this area.
I earned my M.Ed. in Language and Literacy at National Louis University in suburban Chicago. Armed with new skills, and an advanced degree, I spent several years teaching reading and literacy in one form or another.
After years of proofing and editing documents for a variety of people for a myriad of reasons, I had an epiphany: People need support with their writing and all things related to written communication. More recently, I’ve been assisting with the development and maintenance of Twitter and Facebook pages, another area of written communication, in which many require, or desire, assistance.
The culmination of my passion and interest in helping those who are either too busy running their company or don’t possess strong written communication skills led me to start my own consulting practice. As indicated by my list of services, I am able to help small and medium size organizations in a variety of capacities.
